Race/LA Monitors are an integral and essential part of the event - and often have as much fun as players! This is a great way for you (and a friend) to fully participate in this very popular event. If you're interested in Race/LA, but unsure if you want to participate on a team, why not be a Race/LA monitor. You can apply individually, or as a team of two monitors and work together.

"I had a blast! Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a monitor... I can't wait to do it again!"
Monitors are found at locations throughout the race and have a variety of fun and interesting duties, including:

• Giving out clues, puzzles or games that players must complete
• Checking in and greeting teams as they arrive and depart from rest stops, and at locations throughout the race.
• Placing clues and other activities for teams to complete throughout the race.
• Helping to track the progress of teams throughout the race
• Helping to insure that teams are following the rules
"If you've ever dreamed of being a spy, be a Race/LA monitor. You'll handle top secret information, carry out missions, and have a front row seat for all the excitement! "
Monitors do not assist teams in solving clues or giving directions. In locations where race monitors are present, their instructions must be followed.
Monitors should be good with maps and directions, be well-organized, have a reliable cell phone, a car, and a good sense of humor. Monitors should be available on the day of the race from approximately 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. (with some flexibility) and for a monitors' run-through, scheduled a week or two before the race. Each monitor receives a small stipend.
